Learn about Immigrant Defender's Law Center Mission, History, Impact, Team, Board of Directors, and Programs تاريخنا ImmDef delivers comprehensive deportation defense, legal representation, education, and wraparound social services to over 30,000 detained and non-detained immigrants—children and adults—every year. Our team includes attorneys, advocates, and staff who are immigrants or descendants of immigrants, allowing us to provide culturally responsive legal services rooted in lived experience and deep community ties. This connection empowers us to serve with empathy, authenticity, and impact across Southern California and beyond.

- The Welcoming Project I Immigrant Defenders Law Center
The Welcoming Project began in 2023 with the goal of providing a holistic and dignified welcome for noncitizens living or arriving in Southern California with a focus the greater Los Angeles area. We believe that no migrant should stand alone when arriving at a new home. This program helps migrants navigate the immigration system and understand their rights as migrants while settling into a new community. - Litigation and Advocacy | ImmDef
Explore how ImmDef’s Litigation & Advocacy Program drives systemic change through impact litigation, federal court challenges, and policy advocacy to protect immigrants’ rights, end abusive detention practices, ensure access to counsel, and defend unaccompanied children and asylum seekers from inhumane treatment. ImmDef launched our Litigation and Advocacy Program in 2019 with the goal of creating systemic change to dismantle the systems that seek to deport our clients and separate our families. Our project specifically focuses on issues related to access to counsel, detention conditions and ending immigration detention, violation of rights of unaccompanied minors, cruel and inhumane treatment of asylum seekers and systemic violations of due process rights.
