Managing Attorney - NQRP

Los Angeles

ImmDef seeks a full-time Managing Attorney to help oversee ImmDef’s National Qualified Representatives Program (NQRP) where ImmDef attorneys are appointed to represent individuals in removal proceedings who are deemed mentally incompetent to represent themselves pursuant to the Franco-Gonzalez v. Holder class-action permanent injunction. As a member of ImmDef’s management team, the Managing Attorney will have the opportunity to help develop and advance our mission-driven organization.

Managing Attorney - CRP

ImmDef seeks a full-time Managing Attorney for its Children’s Representation Project. As a member of ImmDef’s management team, the Managing Attorney will have the opportunity to help develop and advance our mission-driven organization.

Temporary Staff Attorney - CRP

Los Angeles

This is a temporary position lasting from summer to December/January.

ImmDef seeks a full-time Temorary Staff Attorney to provide fearless and zealous advocacy to child clients in immigration removal proceedings. The Staff Attorney will work under the direct supervision of a Managing Attorney and in collaboration with their fellow attorneys. Our attorneys receive support from paralegals, administrative assistants and case managers. This is a rewarding and exciting position where the successful applicant will be engaged in cutting edge immigration litigation.

Communication Strategist

Los Angeles

Reporting to the Development & Communications Manager (DCM), the Communications Strategist will be primarily responsible for developing and executing the organization’s external communications strategy, including press and media releases, newsletters, social media and blog posts, and website maintenance. The Communications Strategist will work with the executive leadership and Development & Communications team on shaping, strategizing and directing external communications with partner organizations, public and media and will create a cohesive and effective communications strategy.

Staff Attorney - PCR

Los Angeles

ImmDef seeks a full-time Staff Attorney, based in our Los Angeles office, to primarily work on preparing and litigating post-conviction relief for individuals facing deportation proceedings, as well as providing research and evaluation of criminal issues in removal defense cases. The staff attorney may also represent individuals in their removal proceedings in immigration court. The Staff Attorney will work under the direct supervision of our Supervising Attorney experienced in post-conviction relief and in collaboration with managing and staff attorneys. Our attorneys receive support from paralegals, administrative assistants and case managers.

DYEP Program Associate

Riverside

Reporting to the DYEP Program Coordinator (DYEP PC), the DYEP Program Associate is primarily responsible for providing information to detained minors about their rights in the U.S. Additionally, the DYEP Program Associate is responsible for better preparing detained minors for the immigration court process and assisting in acquiring pro bono legal representation.

The DYEP Program Associate regularly travels to local shelters to provide service to ImmDef clients.
