Staff Attorney 

ImmDef is seeking full-time Staff Attorneys to provide fearless and zealous advocacy to clients in immigration removal proceedings. The Staff Attorney will work under the direct supervision of a Managing Attorney and in collaboration with our entire legal team. Our attorneys receive support from paralegals, administrative assistants and case managers. This is a rewarding and exciting position where the successful applicant will be engaged in cutting edge immigration litigation. 

 


 

Staff Attorney I Children's Representation Project

ImmDef seeks a full-time Staff Attorney to provide fearless and zealous advocacy to child clients in immigration removal proceedings. The Staff Attorney will work under the direct supervision of a Managing Attorney and in collaboration with their fellow attorneys. Our attorneys receive support from paralegals, administrative assistants and case managers. Administrative Assistant I 

San Diego

Our San Diego-based Administrative Assistant will provide administrative and operational support to a growing team in our San Diego practice. Additionally, the Administrative Assistant will assist our clients in arranging travel and linking to resources for immediate shelter options following release from government custody.. Clients served include those in the Migrant Persecution Protocols program (also known as “Remain In Mexico”) as well as to persons on both sides of the border needing direct representation to vindicate their right to seek asylum.

Managing Attorney (NQRP) I

Los Angeles Office

ImmDef seeks a full-time Managing Attorney to help oversee ImmDef’s National Qualified Representatives Program (NQRP) where ImmDef attorneys are appointed to represent individuals in removal proceedings who are deemed mentally incompetent to represent themselves pursuant to the Franco-Gonzalez v. Holder class-action permanent injunction. As a member of ImmDef’s management team, the Managing Attorney will have the opportunity to help develop and advance our mission-driven organization.

Paralegal I San Diego

In response to the current humanitarian crisis manufactured by the Trump administration’s mistreatment of asylum-seeking families in the Tijuana/San Diego border region, ImmDef is hiring a paralegal to support the attorneys in our San Diego office. This position will report directly to our San Diego office's managing attorney, and will be responsible for providing administrative support as well as direct legal support on a variety of cases including removal defense, appellate cases and federal litigation.

DYEP Program Coordinator I Riverside

The DYEP Program Coordinator is responsible for overseeing a team of DYEP Program Associates providing support and guidance, and administrative oversight as needed. Additionally, the DYEP Program Coordinator plays a role in providing information to detained minors about their rights in the U.S., preparing detained minors for the immigration court process and assisting in acquiring pro bono legal representation.


 

DYEP Program Associate I Riverside

Reporting to the DYEP Program Coordinator (DYEP PC), the DYEP Program Associate is primarily responsible for providing information to detained minors about their rights in the U.S. Additionally, the DYEP Program Associate is responsible for better preparing detained minors for the immigration court process and assisting in acquiring pro bono legal representation.
